Transport posters

Illustration, artwork

I created the “Transport Choice is a Feminist Issue” poster partly for the Designers Speak Up Present Tense: Wāhine Toi Aotearoa poster call. The stipulation for this poster was that it should only use one colour: #ff3333. This one was featured on the It’s Nice That blog and in Britomart’s interview with Catherine Griffiths.

In September 2019, all the posters from the call were displayed on hoardings in Britomart precinct, Auckland. The posters were put up in weekly rotation.

The second poster “The planet is dying. Do you really need to take the car?” was created as a pair to the first, using #3333ff as a contrast.

Both posters appear in Alex Dyer’s essays about “car blindness” – The Ruinousness of Cars and The Inhumanity of Car Dependency.

I had A2 prints of both of these posters on sale at Chromacon 2019.

I’ve still got some left! $23 for an A2, in a sturdy cardboard mailing tube. If you’d like one, email me. You can pay by bank transfer or Paypal. I’ll need to add postage (unless you can pick up): $6: Auckland, $9: rest of NZ (+ the usual extra for RD).
